ABOUT

I'm an Associate Professor in the School of Data Science and the Department of Systems and Information Engineering (previous appointment in the Darden School of Business ) at the University of Virginia.

BACKGROUND

I received a Ph.D. from the University of Virginia in 2006, a M.S. from Vanderbilt University in 2003, and a B.S. from Purdue University in 1998. I have been an Assistant and Associate professor of Applied Statistics at the University of Alabama (2013-2018), principal research scientist for Spadac, Geoeye, and DigitalGlobe (2008-2013), post-doc at NCSU and SAMSI (2006-2008), as well as an industrial engineer and maintenance supervisor for Sanford/Newell Brands (1998-2001).
